Harris English ended a long wait for another PGA Tour victory with a thrilling one-shot win at the Farmers Insurance Open, marking his fifth career title and his first since 2021. Battling tough conditions and strong competition at Torrey Pines in La Jolla, California, English displayed resilience and composure to secure the victory.

A Tense Final Round
Starting the day as the overnight leader, English faced early struggles, with bogeys on the first and fifth holes. However, a crucial birdie at the par-five sixth helped him steady his round. From there, he produced a string of 12 consecutive pars in challenging winds on the South Course to finish on eight under par.

Sam Stevens mounted an impressive challenge, starting six shots back and firing four birdies on the front nine to post the lowest round of the day, a 68. Stevens saved par on the 18th despite finding water with his approach, setting the clubhouse target at seven under. However, English held firm to secure the title with a one-over 73 in the final round.

“It’s Just So Much Fun”

After the win, English reflected, “I might have looked calm out there, but inside, your emotions are going crazy. Winning is so hard, and when you get the chance, you’ve got to soak it in.”

This victory moves English back into the world’s top 50 and secures his place at The Masters, a major milestone in his comeback.
