Connor Syme Secures Maiden DP World Tour Victory at KLM Open
Scottish golfer Connor Syme captured his first-ever DP World Tour title with a memorable win at the KLM Open in Amsterdam.
The 29-year-old entered the final round at The International with a two-shot lead and held his nerve to finish on 11-under-par. A steady final-round 70 — including just one bogey in his last 38 holes — was enough to keep Sweden’s Joakim Lagergren at bay, despite a late eagle charge from the Swede.
“This feels unbelievable,” said Syme. “The last few days were incredibly tough, but I felt ready and I’m just so happy to finally get it done.”
Adding to the emotional moment, Syme’s wife Alanis made a surprise appearance on the 18th green to celebrate his long-awaited breakthrough win. He was also joined in the champagne celebrations by fellow Scot Ewen Ferguson and England’s Richard Mansell.
Ferguson had a spectacular final day himself, including a stunning hole-in-one that helped him to a share of fourth place alongside compatriot Richie Ramsay and England’s Jack Senior.
South Africa’s Jayden Schaper rounded out the podium in third, finishing at four under par.
Congratulations to Connor from everyone here at Bonnyton — a tremendous achievement for a rising star of Scottish golf!
